I was born in Upstate New York and raised in Arlington, Virginia. Though my family didn’t have much of a musical background—both of my parents were in the military—there was always music playing in our house. I grew up learning piano and singing in church and would wail out any new song I’d hear throughout the house.
Beyond church, I participated in choirs throughout elementary and middle school, and in high school, I joined our singing group, The Prep Singers (A Cupola Hoyas). This was my first real experience singing in harmony with others, and it gave me the opportunity to perform at the White House Christmas Tree Lighting and for Pope Francis at the House of Representatives during his 2017 visit.
I went on to study at Berklee College of Music, where I earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy. During my time there, I joined two A Cappella groups: On The Vox and Upper Structure. In December 2019, I became a baritone for On The Vox and competed in the ICCAs, where we placed 3rd in the Northeast Quarterfinal. Fun fact: my first Music Director, Tyler Nordin, was also a fellow member of On The Vox!
In the fall of 2020, I took a chance and joined Upper Structure A Cappella as a baritone. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we competed in ICCA 2021 and secured 2nd place overall. After an eventful first year, I was elected Treasurer, Business Manager, and President, leading the group to a first-place win at the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival in 2023. My time with Upper Structure also sparked my passion for arranging music. I arranged our CARA award-winning LAAF set and holiday single, “Favorite Time of Year,” and have since expanded my arranging work to other Northeast A Cappella groups.
Now, I’m incredibly excited to continue my a cappella journey with Ball in the House, especially alongside my first-ever music director! It’s a privilege to do what I love with such talented people.
