Meet the Band
Journey Day RhorerI was born and raised in Napa, California. I grew up playing music with my sister, in a band with my friends and in my church. In High School, I served as the student director for the choir program and it was around then that I knew that music was something that I wanted to pursue as a career.
I went on to work as an entertainer for various hotels, wineries, weddings and theme parks. I also formed and direct the A Cappella group, Take Flight which was named 2023 Bay Area Harmony Sweepstakes Champions. Outside of music, I enjoy playing basketball and trying local coffee shops. So excited to be working with the incredible guys of Ball in the House! |
Tyler NordinI was born in Warwick, Rhode Island, and I’ve been singing since I could speak. My mother would teach me nursery rhymes that I would sing at the top of my lungs in the wee hours of the mornings, waking everybody up in the house (oops!). I made the choice to join choir when I got to high school, and that’s when I truly fell in love with music.
I got my start in a cappella when I was admitted into the second and third sessions of A Cappella Academy, a summer vocal music program for high school students worldwide. My experience there introduced me to the art form of a cappella and helped shape my path for the future. I went on to study at Berklee College of Music and received a Bachelor of Music in Music Business & Management. Along the way, I served as Music Director of one of Berklee’s mixed groups, On The Vox, and learned vocal production and arranging from some of the greatest minds in contemporary a cappella. Since graduating college, I have been arranging and producing music for many different a cappella groups in the New England area and beyond. Joining Ball in the House is truly a full circle moment for me, as I saw the band headline one of the first a cappella festivals I ever attended. I idolized the idea of singing a cappella full-time, and at that moment, I knew I wanted to do it too. I am so unbelievably grateful to live my dream, and blessed to make music with these endlessly talented guys. |
Kevin Cincotta-GuestBorn in San Salvador, El Salvador, I grew up in Westborough, MA. My love for music truly began when I picked up the trumpet in 5th grade. Through the years, I've been able to play the horn in different styles through a variety of ensembles, and I've grown to appreciate all genres of music. My love for choral music and a cappella began during my senior year of high school -- I was a late bloomer! -- and singing in multiple choirs opened my eyes and ears to the true power of vocal harmony.
To further my musical journey, I studied at Ithaca College, and received a Bachelor of Music in Combination with an Outside Field in Media Communication (B.M.). While continuing to study the trumpet, I had the distinct pleasure of being a four year member in the award-winning, all-male identifying a cappella group, Ithacappella. Since college, I've become a professional a cappella producer, arranger, engineer, and educator -- check out my website! - www.kevinguestmusic.com. I'm also an official voting members of The Recording Academy -- I participate in the voting process of THE GRAMMYs®! Outside of music, I enjoy reading mystery/suspenseful, thriller books, taking trips to Old Orchard Beach, ME, playing Nintendo Switch and a variety of board/deck building games, refining my Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game skills, and spending time with my wife and baby son! I’m beyond blessed to share the stage with these phenomenally talented gentlemen, and I couldn’t be more excited to live my dream! |
Wallace ThomasI was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where I was nurtured in a musical family. My parents recognized my talent from an early age and encouraged me to embark on a journey of musical discovery. In elementary school, I commenced formal training in piano and vocal techniques, setting the stage for my future in music.
My passion for singing deepened during my high school years at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts (DASOTA). At DASOTA, I had the privilege of participating in All-State choirs, Solo and Ensemble competitions, and even had the opportunity to share my talent overseas in Europe. These formative experiences not only honed my musical skills but also instilled in me a profound appreciation for the art of performance. Following my high school graduation, I pursued a degree in music at Florida State University. It was during my time at FSU that I was introduced to contemporary a cappella music. I joined Reverb, a start-up, all-male a cappella group on FSU’s campus. Our journeys took us to various performances in Tallahassee and participation in well-known events in the a cappella community like SOJAM and ICCA, where our voices resonated with audiences. My post-college years led me on diverse professional paths, with one significant chapter being my service in the United States Air Force. This experience instilled in me the values of leadership, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence. As I transitioned from military life, I found my home in West Palm Beach, Florida, with my beloved wife, Angie. I continued to share my vocal talents with the community, whether through serving as a cantor for local churches or serenading patrons in restaurants and nightclubs as a crooner. It was during that period that I stumbled upon BitH, where I uncovered a platform that offered exceptional opportunities for singers like myself. Nearly 9 years later, through BitH I've found a stage that showcases my talents and allows me to connect with a diverse and appreciative audience. It's an honor to be part of such a storied group where my passion for music can shine, and I look forward to sharing my artistry with you for years to come. |
Jon RyanI grew up in Boston, but was never much into music as a kid. It all changed for me back in 5th grade, when I met Dave at the Boston Boys Choir School. We studied music pretty intensely, learning to sight read, singing every day in church and other venues, and also learning to play the recorder, piano, and hand bells. Later in high school, I discovered the magic of keyboards and drum machines and took up bass as well.
At Skidmore College, the small school setting allowed me tons of musical experience outside the classroom as I majored in music inside the classroom. This is where I got the a cappella bug in a group there (Bandersnatchers), in addition to playing in a band, piano accompanying, singing in chorus, and instrumental and vocal arranging. After graduating with music honors, I sang in various a cappella groups, including the Vineyard Sound, while teaching elementary music and piano lessons. I continued to arrange vocal music, both for my own groups, as well as others. I had always loved rhythm, even more than singing, but never really knew much about beatboxing until I saw Andrew Chaikin perform with the House Jacks. With his amazing performance as inspiration and wanting to perform full time myself, I started Ball in the House and worked on beatboxing until I could go for an entire show. Now here we are and I'm blessed with being able to do this for a living with amazing musicians and friends! |
